ILA Scotland is a simple way to get up to £200 per year towards the cost of learning something new. It is a Scottish Government Scheme for people who are normally resident in Scotland, aged 16 or over, with an income of £22,000 a year or less (or who are on benefits).
The money is not a loan - so you don't have to pay any of it back and it can be used towards many different types of courses including many of the RYA Sailing & PowerBoating Training Courses on offer at ScotSail.

There are two types of ILA account available. The £200 account is relevant for anyone interested in funding for ScotSail’ courses. The other type of account is more suited if you want to study a part-time higher education or professional qualification More information can be found on the ILA Scotland Website
Many of ScotSails RYA Sailing & PowerBoating Training Courses have been registered with the ILA and all our eligible courses have the ILA logo next to them on our website. ScotSail courses priced less than £200, like many of our one-day shorebased courses and weekend sailing courses (2 Nights / Full Board), can be covered in full and leave money to spare in your ILA account for other training. For courses costing more than £200, the £200 ILA funding can be used towards the total cost of the training, providing a significant reduction in the overall course cost to the individual.
